My Uncle Bill passed away yesterday. He was barely over 60, but was slowed down by a rapidly progressing lung disease. He’s one of those guys that I just couldn’t imagine dying young. He served many years in the military and stayed in great shape his entire life. He also had a long and successful career at HP where he eventually retired much earlier than most.

My mom called me and asked me to fly out for a funeral in Atlanta a few days before Christmas because the doctor had told her repeatedly that he wouldn’t make it through the night. Luckily he held on and I was able to fly in and say goodbye. I spent a few days with relatives before making my way back to Utah. The airports were a nightmare, but thankfully I made it back to Utah and my family on Christmas Eve.
